Search Sunglasses
Used or scrapped materials are reused to create a new pair of sunglasses to extend the circular lifetime of waste materials that would have been thrown away (e.g., plastic bottles, scrap wood).
Trying to show their impact, these brands will donate a pair to someone who needs it for every pair purchased.
FSC promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s virgin forests.
Bamboo can be a better alternative to using virgin wood because it’s fast growing and renewable.
Sunglasses protect our eyes from UV rays and reduce the risk of cataracts. They also protect the tender skin around our eyes from sun exposure. In 2012, approximately 95 million sunglasses were sold in the United States. If these were all made of plastic, then that would mean near 800 million pounds of plastic would be thrown away once the sunglasses are done being worn. These plastic sunglasses are not biodegradable and would just accumulate as plastic waste for near 500+ years. That’s just one year’s worth of sunglasses purchased. Now, imagine if all sunglasses were made of biodegradable and renewable materials? Bamboo, recycled, and FSC wood, anyone?
